film i've seen recently

TARNATION: jonathan caouette's own life, interesting documentary-making, depressive story. but i wonder if caouette launched a movie-making career or would he be more successful, say, if he directed music videos. (i know i'm judgemental, but there is a thin line separating film-making and video-making) on a another level, anyone who is willing to share their personal history and secrets so easily, and with the world, makes me suspicious.

NOBODY KNOWS: hirakazu koreeda's 2004 film about 4 kids abandoned by their selfish mother. as i'm always saying asian cinema is on the rise. this film was beautiful, sad and in a way hopeful. kids are all right.

THE LIFE AND DEATH OF COLONEL BLIMP: michael powell and emeric pressburger's 1943 film. didn't even bother finishing this epic story about a soldier's honorly life.
